Sentimental

These days everything

feels sentimental,

every emotion,

every song.

Everything is overloaded.

Even your fingertips,

that used to be so gentle and loving

are leaving burn marks on my skin.

I only feel this way

after the first shot of tequila,

before the smoke of my now

lighten cigarette turns into dust,

I only feel this way when

things are beginning or

when they're ending.

Everything feels

too sentimental, my love

one day you're here,

the next day you're gone.
